PNC-Riggs Bank Records
Record of Stocks and Bonds: Temporary Safekeeping Accounts, No. 1, A-G, 1924-1932
This lists the securities held at Riggs for safekeeping by individual customers. Each customer had his/her own record. The record describes each security and includes the number of shares and bonds deposited. There are notes regarding the withdrawal of securities. In a few cases, these are accompanied by the signature of the customer.
Stock Ledger and Transfer Book, 1896-1905
Ledgers recording stock purchases and activity for each stockholder. Every stockholder receives a section and thereunder transfers and sales are noted. Fields include date, certificate numbers, to whom transferred, date of purchase, method, and number of certificates. The second half of the book consists of the bank's copy of the stock receipts. Similar in format to the reverse of stock certificates.
U.S. Bonds in Safekeeping, 1918-1926
Arranged in alphabetical order, register style. Each entry includes name of bondholder, bond number, denomination, and bonds received (i.e., whether deposited, endorsement if cashed, or transfer). Signatures of those who cashed it appear. No signature for William Taft.
