Individual Ledger A-L, 1848-1851
Scope and Contents note
For many of the accounts in this ledger, the deposits and withdrawals have explanations. This ledger also contains the disbursements paid on the bonds which financed the loan to the U.S. government. In some cases, the payee is noted in very light pencil. G.W. Young is one of these. This is Henry Clay's last account as he died in March 1851 -- the date of the last deposit and withdrawal. See pages 108 for deBodisco, 140-147, 352, and 732-740 for Corcoran, 239 for the Department of the Interior, 240-252 for Dividend U.S. Loan, 319 and 333 for Foote, 348 for Clay, 536-539 for Hyde, 720-723 for Kieckhoefer.
