Scope and Contents note
Contains the stockholder, deposit, loan, and general operational records of the Farmers and Mechanics National Bank prior to its merger with Riggs in 1928. There are a small number of Board of Director minutes from the late nineteenth and turn of the twentieth century. The record group also contains ledgers from the Washington Turnpike Co.
