Public Affairs - Roy Archibald Internship Program - Carolyn Salisbury, July 1986
Scope and Contents
Series contains photographs of and used by the Government Relations Department of the NEA. Contents include photographs of tesimony by NEA officials before Congress, notably presidents and other executives, as well as photographs of other, less formal interactions between NEA officials and government officials. Also included are photos of summits, press conferences and other public events held in conjuction with or response to government officials. This series contains a particularly rich visual account of the NEA's relationship with Federal legsilators.
In order to make ease searching, Library of Congress subject headings are attached to files containing photos of significant individuals or events. Users are can find photos by using these subject headings. When representatives of state and local affiliates are in a picture, a subject heading for the affiliate rather than the individual is added.
Formats included are photographs, negatives, slides and contact prints, as well as paper records, mostly contextual information for the photographs, transcripts of testimony and press releases.
