"Where Are the Clark Kents of Yesteryear? They Are Infiltrating the Movement, and Here Is How to Get Rid of Them", 1970

This series is composed of various printed material, including pamphlets, newspapers, newsletters, journals and flyers, produced by and about radical left-wing organizations and issues dating from 1960-2007. Most of the materials date from the New Left era, between the years of 1960 and 1980.

The publications vary widely in topic and purpose. Some of the themes covered are the anti-war and anti-imperialist movements, the Black Power movement, women's liberation, communist theory, unionism, prisons and the prison abolition movement, the student movement, movement history, as well as contemporary news and issues. Also included are communist party propaganda, reprints of classic radical writings, as well as original publications including Students for a Democratic Society's "Port Huron Statement," the University of California, Berkeley's "Disorientation" guide from 1970, and "How Harvard Rules," published by the Africa Research Group.

Further, the materials were published by and about a wide range of organizations, from Maoist and Marxist-Leninist communist factions, to Black Power organizations, to student groups. Among others, these include the Black Panther Party, the Black Workers Congress, Students for a Democratic Society, the Weather Underground, the Industrial Workers of the World, the Revolutionary Union / Revolutionary Communist Party, USA, the Sojourner Truth Organization, Vietnam Veterans Against the War, the Venceremos Brigade (Cuba), the Movement of the Revolutionary Left Movement (Chile), and the Tupamaros (Uruguay). Also included are a number of pamphlets published in Peking by Foreign Languages Publishers on Maoist thought and practice.

Also worth noting are publications detailing contemporary events, issues and movements. These include the 1960s free speech movement at the University of California, Berkeley, the 1968 Columbia University protests, and the 1971 murder of George Jackson and subsequent trial of the San Quentin Six.
