Biographical / Historical

The General President supervises the affairs of the union in accordance with the Constitution and is subject to review by the General Executive Board. The General President presides over the IBT Convention which is held every five years. There have been ten General Presidents to date. Ten staff departments report to the Office of the General President. The office of the General President is responsible for enforcing and maintaining the IBT Constitution. Changes to the Constitution are suggested and voted on by delegates to the IBT Convention.
