Historical or Biographical Note

Kate Tittmann (1856-1938) was a founder of the Washington Club and a charter member and former national treasurer-general of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Kate Tittmann was married to Dr. O.H.Tittmann, former president of the National Geographic Society and head of the Coast and Geodetic Survey. Kate Tittmann was born in Detroit. She came to Washington following her marriage and remained in the city for 23 years before moving to Leesburg, Virginia.
