Historical note

For the last years of its existence the club was located at 1918 F St NW. An earlier location was in the Marvin Center. The George Washington University Club began in 1970 with the purpose to promote the educational, intellectual, professional, research, cultural, social and recreational activities of The George Washington University through its faculty, administrative staff, students, alumni and friends.

The Club has gone through significant management changes throughout its history. In 2003, although still a membership club the University reduced the cost of membership and included late-night hours with the goal of making the club more accessible to the GW community and specifically students.
