David Bates papers
David M. Bates (1925- ) was born in Arlington, Virginia. He graduated from The George Washington University in 1946, and while a student was very active in the Glee Club, directed by Dr. Robert Harmon. Collection includes essays, and photographs ranging in date from 1940-1998

This collection includes notebooks, diaries, lectures, medical research papers, correspondence, photographs, plays, booklets, awards, and and memorabilia.
Foggy Bottom collection
The Foggy Bottom Collection is an outgrowth of the 1996 exhibit the Foggy Bottom Association and the Gelman Library sponsored called "Fantastic Foggy Bottom: The Growth of a Community." Materials in this collection include articles, building surveys, newspapers, books, photographs, slides, and artifacts. They range in date from 1907-98.
George Coffin papers
Collection includes original political cartoons from Washington newspapers; lithographic reproductions of other political cartoons; original pen and ink illustrations of civil war stories; scrapbooks containing original political cartoons, lithographic reproductions of cartoons, original sketches, and newspaper clippings; diaries; and loose sketches and photographs. These materials date from 1858-1896.
Jesse Fant Evans papers
Jesse DuBois Fant Evans was the first woman to serve on George Washington University's Board of Trustees (1924-66). Evans received her A.B. in 1913 (with distinction) and an honorary Doctor of Education in 1932, both from GW. Collection include her personal papers, speeches, family memorabilia and GW memorabilia. The collection ranges from 1912 to 1962.
Lowell Joseph Ragatz papers
Collection of handwritten notes from Washington newspapers that had articles dealing with the University and its history. This included commencements, advertisements, medical, law and other GW schools. The collection covers the years 1821 to 1872.
Luther Rice papers
Luther Rice (1783-1836) is regarded as the founder of Columbian College, now The George Washington University. Collection include correspondence financial ledgers, log books. His papers include promissory notes, financial documents, college building appeal, Baptist Documents, notebooks, diaries and other records. The collection covers the twenty year period between 1812 and 1832.
Marvin Ickow papers
Materials in this collection include approximately 60,000 negatives of GWU images taken by Marvin Ickow. The material dates from 1975-88. The images include alumni, sports, reunions, seminars, development office activities, construction projects on campus, and faculty members. Prominent people include Edward Teller, Thelma Hunt, Chief Justice Warren Burger, and GW President Lloyd Elliott.
National Law Center records
Collection includes the law alumni photographic collection, founder's day celebrations, biographical sketches, articles reports, GW law school yearbooks, 1895 to 1915, bulletins and journals of the Patent, Trademark, and Copyright Research Institute of GW, (1950-1972), copies of the "Advocate," Banners scrapbooks correspondence Alumni reunions, minutes from the Board of Trustees, Research notes, banners, caps and gowns, reports to the Dean Exam questions, and information on Stockton Hall.

Special Collections Research Center oral history collection
The George Washington University Bulletin
Collection contains the bulletins of The George Washington University, from all schools and colleges. These bulletins include special addresses, reports, and pictorial bulletins, as well as academic courses, fees, and degree requirements.
University historical materials collection
This collection include photos, diplomas, invitations, newspapers, early land holdings, 19th century newspaper accounts of the early college, Civil War records, and memorabilia.
