Abstract
Collection contains audio cassettes, CD-ROMs, literary journals, anthologies, plays, video cassettes, and magnetic audiotape reels. These electronic audio and video recordings produced between 1976 and 2000s. The audio recordings are of famous primarily local poets that Grace Cavalieri interviewed on her radio program The Poet and the Poem and an earlier radio show titled Poetry from the City. These shows date from the middle 1970s through the present.

The Mount Vernon Seminary began in 1875 as a private high school and junior college for women, founded by Elizabeth J. Somers. The George Washington University initially affiliated with Mount Vernon College, and ultimately acquired the college's property and legacy in 1999.
