Adam M. Hallidy papers
Collection consists of 14 handwritten letters, including 12 from Hallidy to his girlfriend Maggie, one from Maggie to Hallidy, and and a letter from his brother, Bob. Also contains 14 pages from Adam M. Hallidy's diary. The collection is arranged chronologically from 1862 to 1865.
Civil War Round Table of the District of Columbia records
Records consist of newsletters, meeting minutes, correspondence, member directories, program booklets, field trip records, maps, news clippings, and announcements of organizational events. One folder contains miscellaneous materials, mostly newsletters from other Civil War Round Tables across the countryfrom the Civil War Round Table of the District of Columbia cover the years 1951 to 1994. The bulk of the contents can be found from 1951 to 1959.
Darrell C. Crain, Jr., presidential inaugural collection
The Darrell C. Crain, Jr. Presidential Inaugural Collection consist of newspaper articles, invitations, tickets programs, memorabilia, newspapers, invitations and souvenir booklets, pins and mini flags. The material dated from approximately 1957-1989 came from events such as inaugural ceremonies and balls that Dr. Crain attended while earlier memorabilia from 1817-1929 was material he purchased to complement the collection.
David Bates papers
David M. Bates (1925- ) was born in Arlington, Virginia. He graduated from The George Washington University in 1946, and while a student was very active in the Glee Club, directed by Dr. Robert Harmon. Collection includes essays, and photographs ranging in date from 1940-1998
George Coffin papers
Collection includes original political cartoons from Washington newspapers; lithographic reproductions of other political cartoons; original pen and ink illustrations of civil war stories; scrapbooks containing original political cartoons, lithographic reproductions of cartoons, original sketches, and newspaper clippings; diaries; and loose sketches and photographs. These materials date from 1858-1896.

James Goode papers
Lester Frank Ward papers
Lester Frank Ward (1841-1913) has been described by some as the father of American sociology. His contributions to sociology are almost forgotten today, but at one time he was considered to be one of America's leading intellectuals. Collection includes diaries, correspondence, photographs, a scrapbook. and sixty-nine articles written by Lester Frank Ward. The materials range in date from between 1883 and 1919.
Marcus Cunliffe papers
Contains diaries, correspondence, research notes, articles, chapters from books, syllabi, exam questions, news clippings, correspondence, original military ballads, illustrations, and photographs range in date from 1936-1990 (bulk 1960-1990) documenting Cunliffe’s career as a scholar of American history.
National Intelligencer Newspaper collection
This collection contains issues of the National Intelligencer newspaper. These issues date from 1804-1844. This is not a complete run. The periodicals department at Gelman Library has Intelligencer on microfilm from 1800-1810 and 1813-1869.

Timothy Vedder letters
Collection contains holograph letters signed to family members in New York and Connecticut. These letters describe Washington, including brief mention of Columbian College (now George Washington University); drills and training; frequent illness of soldiers; retreat of Union soldiers from 1st Battle of Bull Run; and guarding house of brother of James T. Jackson, killer of E.E. Ellsworth, first Union casuality of war. These letters date from June 25-Sept. 26 of 1861.

This collection include photos, diplomas, invitations, newspapers, early land holdings, 19th century newspaper accounts of the early college, Civil War records, and memorabilia.
University Hospital records
Collection includes the School of Nursing Alumnae Association meetings journal and the Medical Staff Executive Committee and Department minutes.
W. Lloyd Wright papers
Collection includes correspondence, bills, receipts, lottery tickets, proclamations, testimonials, auction catalogue, newspapers, bonds, stock certificates, and checks. The material dates from 1786-1945. All of the material in this collection relates to prominent people and activities in Washington, D.C.
Washington D.C. published material about education and community life
This collection contains published reports, essays, promotional material, audits, surveys, directories, development proposals, and other published material. The material dates from 1965 to 2003, but the bulk of the material dates from 1989 to 1996. These are materials created by and/or collected at the George Washington Institute of Public Policy. The majority of the collection deals with DC public schools.
