Scope and Contents

The records in this series are the files of GW Professor of Dance, Maida Withers. Materials include information about the Dance Production Groups, dancer portfolios, flyers, posters, programs, publicity, photographs, photographic negatives, contact sheets, correspondence, and syllabi. Materials in this series date between 1961 and 1993, with the bulk of the material dating from 1967 to 1980.

Abstract The Georgetown Dance Studios Inc. was co-founded by Jan Van Dyke (1941- ) and John Gamble in 1967. Jan Van Dyke has been an active member of the Washington Metropolitan dance community since her graduation from George Washington University in 1967 with a M.A. in dance education. Abstract

This collection contains correspondence, notes, financial documents, licensing agreements, programs, flyers, DVDs, photographs, printed media reviews, and other records related to the operation of Eric Hampton Dance. The material, which dates from 1981 to 2012. The Washington area dance company was founded in 1991 by choreographer and ballet instructor Eric Hampton.
